Content - Grand Final dan Malam Penganugerahan TMLEnergy Green Challenge
In order to provide one of a forum for the young generation to express their creations and innovations and in accordance with the company’s commitment to play a role in saving the environment, TMLEnergy, a company engaged in the EPC Solar PV Energy System, held an activity called TMLEnergy Green Challenge.
TMLEnergy Green Challenge is a competition intended for the younger generation to assess the best innovations within these 3 categories:
- Breakthrough products for solar electricity applications
- Water management of high TSS (Total Suspended Solids) reservoir and its application on a large scale
- Management of mine residual sludge to increase its added value
This competition was initiated by Mr. Daniel Suharya as TMLEnergy Commissioner, to see how far the creativity of the public in the field of environment which is plausible to be implemented on an industrial scale.
The grand final and the awarding night of the TMLEnergy Green Challenge competition were held on August 10, 2018 at the Aryaduta Hotel Ballroom, Bandung, 12 finalists of TMLEnergy Green Challenge presented and demonstrated their ideas and innovations before the jury and audience as the final judging stage.
The series of TMLEnergy Green Challenge events have been started since 11 November 2017, by launching a pre-event held at the ITB Insight event at the Institut Teknologi Bandung campus. The registration period is open from 20 November 2017 until 15 February 2018 with participation open to the public, either in teams and individuals.
To raise interest within academic community, roadshows were held on several campuses in major cities such as Jakarta, Semarang, Solo, Yogyakarta and Surabaya. In total, there are 153 teams and 700 individuals that participating in the competition. For the assessment of the entire participants, the registrants are required to make a group introduction video and a proposal for their creative ideas. Initial judging is done by TMLEnergy’s internal team to determine the finalists who will be invited to the final judging in Bandung.
During the grand final, all finalists were invited to make a presentation before the panel of judges. The jury team invited was Mrs. Ir Maritje Hutapea (practitioner and expert in the field of renewable energy, former Director of Various New and Renewable Energy, Directorate EBTKE, Ministry of Energy and Mineral Resources), Mr. Dr. Ir Andhika Prastawa, MSEE (Head of the Center for Energy Conservation Technology, BBPT), Mr. Surono SP, M. Agr, Ph.D (Researcher of the Soil Research Institute, Balitbangtan, Ministry of Agriculture), and Mr. Dr. Ir Nanang Hariyanto MT (Lecturer at Electrical Power Engineering, School of Electrical and Information Engineering, ITB).
Based on the decision of the jury, the winners were set for each of the following categories:
- Solar Power Application Category:
1st Winner : Desper Team (Universitas Diponegoro)
2nd Winner : Sunshine Team (ITB and Universitas Negeri Malang)
- Water Management Category:
1st Winner : Ganesha Arkanaka Team (ITB)
2nd Winner : Mikrohidro ITB Team (ITB)
- Sludge Treatment Category:
1st Winner : HALO Team (ITB)
2nd Winner : MRC Team (ITS)
The 1st winner for each category is entitled to a prize of Rp 100,000,000, and the winner 2 is Rp 50,000,000 each. In addition, the ideas and innovations of each winner also have the opportunity to be implemented collaboratively with TMLEnergy and stakeholders.
Through TMLEnergy Green Challenge, we hope that it is not only to be a place to express creativity for the younger generation, but also to play a role in protecting the environment, as well as to increase public awareness of environmental conditions in accordance with the direction and commitment of the company to continue to preserve the environment. In addition, it is expected that through the TMLEnergy Green Challenge, it can become a way for TMLEnergy to present our corporate branding to the public and accelerate the research and development of companies in the field of renewable technology and environmental management.
